Middleweight Jorge Santiago has been released by the UFC after dropping a unanimous decision to Demian Maia earlier this month at UFC 136 for his second-straight loss, Tatame reports.
Santiago went just 1-2 in his first stint with the UFC that ended in 2006, but won 11 of his next 12 fights and claimed the Sengoku middleweight title to earn another shot inside the Octagon.
Santiago returned to the UFC against Brian Stann in May, but suffered a second-round TKO in the “Fight of the Night” at UFC 130.
