Sam Stout has withdrawn from his UFC 137 matchup with fellow lightweight Dennis Siver following the recent death of his longtime trainer and brother-in-law Shawn Tompkins, though the reason for his withdrawal is currently unknown, according to MMAjunkie.
Donald Cerrone has replaced fellow lightweight Sam Stout on the UFC 137 fight card and will look to remain unbeaten inside the Octagon when he faces German contender Dennis Siver at the October 29 event in Las Vegas, the UFC announced Monday.
Cerrone (16-3) scored the “Knockout of the Night” of Charles Oliveira at UFC on Versus 5 earlier this month for his third-straight UFC win following back-to-back WEC victories, while Siver (19-7) has won four-straight and seven of his last eight in the UFC, including wins over George Sotiropoulos and Matt Wiman in 2011.
UFC 137 is headlined by welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz and also includes BJ Penn vs. Carlos Condit, Matt Mitrione vs. Cheick Kongo, and Mirko Cro Cop vs. Roy Nelson.
