A lightweight bout between Anthony Pettis (13-2) and Jeremy Stephens (20-6) has been added to fast-growing a UFC 136 fight card. The UFC announced the match-up earlier today.
Anthony Pettis will be looking bounce back from a loss to Clay Guida at the TUF 13 Finale. Pettis will also be looking to put himself back in title contention after losing his guaranteed title shot.
Stephens is coming off a dominant victory over Danny Downes at the TUF 13 Finale. The hard-hitting Stephens will be looking for his third straight victory since a contenious split decision loss to Melvin Guillard.
UFC 136 takes place October 8 in Houston, Texas and will be headlined by a pair of title fights between UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Kenny Florian, along with the long-awaited third fight between UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. The card will also mark the return of the controversial but talented Chael Sonnen as he faces fan favorite and fast-rising Brian Stann.
