Following its recent purchase by the UFC, Strikeforce is expected to make its pay-per-view debut in July with a card that will likely include former light heavyweight champ Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal vs. Roger Gracie, MMA Weekly reports.
A specific date and location have yet to be determined, while the event’s headliners likely depend on the results of Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley” event, which features welterweight champ Nick Diaz and lightweight title-holder Gilbert Melendez.
Gracie was rumored as a possible opponent for Lawal’s return at Strikeforce’s June 18 event in Dallas, which continues the promotion’s heavyweight grand prix, but the matchup has apparently been shifted to the pay-per-view card.
Former top-ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko has also been rumored for a July return.
