A light heavyweight matchup between former champion Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio “Minotouro” Nogueira has been added to the UFC 140 fight card on December 10 in Toronto, the UFC announced Friday.
Ortiz (16-9-1) and Nogueira (19-5) were scheduled to meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 24 in March before a cut forced Ortiz off the card and Nogueira went on to drop a unanimous decision to replacement Phil Davis.
Ortiz scored a first-round submission to upset Ryan Bader in July for his first win in nearly five years and agreed to replace an injured Davis against Rashad Evans just one month later in the main event of UFC 133, but suffered second-round TKO.
Nogueira hasn’t fought since Davis handed him his second-straight loss following a September defeat to Bader after a shoulder injury forced him out of the UFC 133 co-main event against Rich Franklin. “Little Nog” will be fighting alongside as his twin brother at UFC 140, as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is slated to rematch fellow former heavyweight champ Frank Mir at the event.
