UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem has been charged with misdemeanor battery following an alleged altercation in Las Vegas just days after his win over Brock Lesnar in the main event of UFC 141 on Dec. 30, the LVRJ reports.
Overeem faces a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted, with his first court hearing scheduled for Feb. 21.
According to the report, Overeem “pushed or shoved a woman in the face, causing her to stagger back” at 3am local time on Jan. 2 and was cited by Las Vegas police, but was not arrested. The UFC and Overeem have not yet commented on the incident.
Overeem knocked out Lesnar in the first round at UFC 141 in his Octagon debut to earn a shot at UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos in a matchup that was expected to take place early this summer.
