Another big heavyweight fight is on its way to the UFC 137 card in October, as Brett Okamoto at ESPN reports that Matt Mitrione and Cheick Kongo will square off at the event in Las Vegas.
Both fighters took part in the UFC on Versus 4 event in Pittsburgh, Penn. last month, with Mitrione knocking out Christian Morecraft in the second round and Kongo coming back from nearly being finished himself to knock out Pat Barry in the night's main event.
Mitrione's KO win was his fifth straight to start off his career. The former NFL player has spent his entire MMA career in the Octagon after taking part in The Ultimate Fighter's 10th season, and he has stopped four of his opponents with strikes.
As for Kongo, the exciting win over Barry was his ninth in the UFC, and is 6-3-1 over his last ten fights. He holds a 16-6-2 record overall in his 10-year MMA career, and this bout will mark his 15th fight in the UFC
