Apparently, fighting four times in two years is too infrequent a pace for Paul “Semtex” Daley, who requested and was granted a release from his Strikeforce contract as a result of not seeing enough action.

The 29-year-old Brit signed with the promotion in 2010 and has faced the likes of Scott Smith, Nick Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Kazuo Misaki since. He supplemented his income during that time with appearances in BAMMA and Ringside MMA.

Speaking with MMAWeekly, Daley’s manager, Wad Alameddine, explained that, although he wished his client could stay with Strikeforce, he will be courting offers from other MMA and even kickboxing promotions.

“I am personally disappointed to see Paul leave Strikeforce,” said Alameddine. “He is without question one of the most charismatic personalities and talented MMA athletes to come out of the UK. We have parted ways with Strikeforce on good terms. Now that Paul is a free agent, I’m expecting plenty of interest in him from promotions both within the sport of MMA and K-1 Kickboxing, as he’s interested in competing in both. With his strong fan-following and exciting fight style I expect Semtex to be very busy wherever we go next.”

Daley’s last Strikeforce appearance came against Misaki at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey this past March and resulted in a split decision loss.
